What do you do during the day?
I stay home with my 4-and-a-half-year-old and 5-month-old boys. They keep me plenty busy for sure, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! They are my “everything!” I also work part-time at a Leawood boutique called “Southern Blú Style” which is located just down the street from my home at 151st and Nall. I love the clothes and enjoy the adult time and helping other women find beautiful clothes.
What are you wearing?
My shoes are black heels by Kim Kardashian. I’m wearing Miss Me jeans, a sequin top and a black blazer. My entire outfit—except the shoes—is from Southern Blú Style Boutique.
Why do you love this outfit?
It’s fun and can be worn dressy when going out to dinner or casual for a night out on the town with friends. Versatile, comfortable and a bit sassy!
Describe your closet.
In one simple word—FULL! My husband tells me constantly to get rid of things and donate them. I do, but not nearly as much as I should. I always believe that what may not be in style now will eventually come back around and I’ll wear it again.
What do you like most about your closet?
The size, the built-in shelves and the two large dressers. It allows me to stay fairly organized. It’s nice because my husband gets one long side and I get the other. He gets one dresser and I get the other. And, well, I get most of the shelves for my many shoes!
What is your most treasured fashion splurge?
Oh wow! I can’t mention just one. I sort of “splurge” a lot. Clothes are my downfall for sure. My kids and family are my passion and clothes and shoes are my obsession. I need help!
Why do you love living in south Johnson County?
I absolutely love my neighborhood and all the people. I also love the variety of shopping and many fabulous restaurants. It’s just simply a friendly and enjoyable place to live and a wonderful place to raise my family.
What is your design philosophy when it comes to fashion?
Always throw on FUN jewelry! A terrific pair of earrings or a cool necklace can take a simple outfit and make it fabulous! And, flirty shoes, of course!
Do you have any fashion tips you might offer?
Always step out of your fashion comfort zone and try things you never thought you would! I think girls get stuck in a “zone” of clothing where they tend to buy the same type of clothes not knowing how fabulous they would look in other things they aren’t used to.
