What do you do during the day?
I fill my days with daily activities of exercising and maintaining my household. I am also a registered dental hygienist and sometimes fill in part-time. Otherwise, I usually have some kind of house project up my sleeve — from decorating my closet, to customizing my garage, to completing our new pool.
What are you wearing?
Silver H & M military-style jacket, grey and white striped Guess sweater, white pants and white high heel lace-up tennis shoes.
Why do you love this outfit?
It’s a very versatile outfit, which looks good and is perfect for an elegant dinner, or I can remove the jacket for a day of casual shopping.
Describe your closet.
A well-organized closet that displays everything out in a viewable fashion not only for decoration but for ease of putting together my outfits, while knowing where everything is.
What do you like most about your closet?
I love that my husband and I have matching closets, done in black grain wood trimmed with black crown molding, with cream-colored drawers and cabinets above with clear glass doors and matching mirrors. California Closets did a wonderful job on design and organizational features.
What is your most treasured fashion splurge?
I grew up in Las Vegas and when I moved to Kansas City, I figured that in winter I would need a fur coat, so I purchased a white mink swing coat at Saks Fifth Avenue.
Why do you love living in south Johnson County?
Our two children are our most cherished blessings, and I can’t think of any other place where our kids could be happier while having the opportunity for a wonderful education. Plus the shopping is just plain great!
What is your design philosophy when it comes to fashion?
I love to mix and match pieces—like making a recipe from scratch. My outfits usually come out different each time and tend to express my mood and personality of that day.
Do you have any fashion tips you might offer?
If an item pops out at me when I least expect it to, I always buy it no matter if I have anything else that matches or can be worn with it. It adds to the recipe of outfit surprise.
