WHAT I DO DURING THE DAY: I am the owner of SKR Designs, a custom hand painted mural and distinctive faux finish company. I am typically all over town during the day either bidding a new project, working on a room or shopping for accessories. I love what I do because it allows me to be home when I need to be so I can take care of all my paperwork and be a mom, which is my first and foremost priority.
THE CLOTHES I’M WEARING: I am wearing an L.O.L. Vintage Tee in white/lavender/grey. I love the lightweight feel of the shirt and how it fits. My jeans are GAP Skinnies. My boots are Corral Snip Toe Cowboy boots in Black and Bronze.
I LOVE THIS OUTFIT BECAUSE: It fits all my curves and properly expresses my sass. It’s feminine, yet screams independence and self confidence. I am a happy girl in my boots and a pair of jeans.
INSIDE MY CLOSET YOU’LL FIND: I have a little bit of everything, but everything goes together in multiple ways. I have a lot of jeans and shirts. There are so many variations on denim and it is such a classic staple. I have a variety of colors in my closet and typically like bold things. I like to wear things I don’t see anywhere else. I have a terrific selection of belts, scarves and accessories.
My Most Treasured Splurge: I would have to say my Ellen Tracy wool jacket. It is bright orange and goes with so many different things. In my business, most people enjoy color but are afraid of it. I like to add a “wow” factor to any outfit I wear and the jacket does just that. It is also special to me because I bought it with one of my best friends on a memorable day.
I LOVE SOUTH JOHNSON COUNTY BECAUSE: I have lived several places in my life and I am grateful and lucky to be able to live here. There are excellent schools here, which is paramount for my children. This is also such a great place for entrepreneurs. I have always been self-employed and in this current economic situation, it’s wonderful to see all of the inspired people finally come out of their corporate boxes and find their inner niches. We also have great restaurants and attractions. It is overall a terrific place to call home.
