Where did you grow up?

Miami, Phoenix, Cincinnati, Connecticut, and Indiana…I consider myself well-traveled!

Do you have any siblings? If so, how many?

I have one awesome younger sister.  I wish I could see her more often.

How would your best friend describe you?

Outgoing, spontaneous, and responsible. I know how to have a good time but I also know how to keep myself in check!

What qualities do you look for in a mate?

Far more important than looks, I expect my girl to be intelligent, driven, and honest.  Attraction will draw me in, but your mind and heart will keep me there.

Do you have any worst-date experiences?

I tried online dating for a while.  I’m pretty sure all of those dates were worst-date experiences one right after the other :-P.

What was the proudest/happiest moment in your life?

Graduating from college!  Even though I enjoyed every minute I spent at Purdue, I was ready to prove myself to the world.  In order to graduate on time and start my job (which I had already accepted!), I had to spend my final semester working harder than I ever had in my entire life.  The feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction as I was coming down the home-stretch will be a difficult feeling to ever top.

Describe what you do for a living.

I design power plants as an electrical engineer.

How would you describe your style?

Classy, sophisticated, and professional.  I love to wear suits and dress sharp.  I would be completely thrilled to wear a shirt and tie for work and going out.  I think the first step to becoming a professional is looking professional.

What do you do for fun?

Being new to Kansas City (and this part of the country in general) I enjoy going exploring.  Taking my dog to new parks or just going for a run around the local trails. KC has so much to offer and so many interesting and unique experiences.  I am determined to find some of them and experience them for myself.

Who is your celebrity crush?

Charlize Theron.  Besides being stunningly beautiful, she always manages to have this rare form of elegance and poise.  She is so down-to-Earth and humble it makes her much more desirable than the other countless beautiful celebrities that don’t seem to have any measurable grace whatsoever.

What’s your favorite food?

There is this little known restaurant called Chipotle, perhaps you’ve heard of it?

What kind of music do you like?

Usually anything that’s popular on the radio is something that I’m going to like.  I know I’m not going to make any friends with this next comment; but I really don’t like Country music (sorry!).  Some of my favorite bands are Ben Folds, Metric, Spoon, and Fleetwood Mac.

Where do you hang out in Kansas City?

When the weather is warmer I enjoy going The Plaza during the day and Martini Corner during the evenings.  Honestly though, I’d rather be spending most of my time playing sand volleyball or hanging out with friends!

What’s your favorite drink?

A “good” Long Island Iced Tea.  A good one is very hard to find…

Are you a night owl or a morning person?

I am fortunate enough to be both.  Maybe it’s because I’m still young but I still like to stay up late and have no problem bouncing out of bed early the next morning.

Tell us about a recent trip you took.

After graduating college most of my friends all moved to different parts of the country.  This past summer we all met up in Chicago and then went to a friend’s wedding.  The destinations we went to were unremarkable, but reconnecting with great friends and creating new memories was the best part of that trip.

Name a unique trait/talent that people might not know about you.

I enjoy racing cars at race tracks (some people who have seen me drive will have already known this).  I have been trying to learn the real art of racing when the weather is nicer.  It’s not a talent that comes in handy in daily driving but it’s exhilarating to experience.

Do you have any pets?

I have an awesome “mini” black lab, Cassie.  I adopted her years ago and she is both an excellent companion and an awesome playmate!

Describe your most embarrassing moment.

I lived in a fraternity in college…enough said!

What are three luxuries you can’t live without?

My Cadillac, sand volleyball, and frozen Snickers ice cream bars.

What makes you laugh?

Best friends!!  The ones that know you well enough and are comfortable to make a fool out of themselves in the pursuit of a good laugh.

Name your most recent impulse purchase.

Thermal socks!  I can’t believe it’s taken me all these years to figure out how amazing these can be!  Why has nobody ever told me about this?!

What words or phrases do you over-use most?

C’est la vie (French for “that is life”). My friends tell me I say that all the time…I respond, of course, with “Cest la vie”.

What’s your favorite physical feature (on yourself)?

My hands.  People have always told me that I’m good with my hands…

What’s your favorite book?

The Money Book by Suze Orman.  Personal finance is something that every recent college grad should fully understand before venturing out into the real world.  Good personal finance is sexy, right?

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I’m getting my MBA right now and would really love to start my own company.  Hopefully with a few years of experience and a little luck I’ll be able to get into a start-up or perhaps even create my own company some day.  And I secretly hope that I can also make it back into a really big city like NYC, DC, or Chicago because there would be so much stuff to experience.

What is your life motto (or favorite quote)?

Life is good!

Finish this sentence: My first kiss was…

With my best girl friend because we both agreed that we had lived far too long without having a first real kiss so we decided to fix the problem right then and there.

If you could have one person with you on a deserted island, who would it be and why? My future wife, of course! I couldn’t think of a more perfect person to spend the rest of my life on a deserted island than with the love of my life.
